No-tech vacations/meals/walks
Hugs and smiles

Gifts with strings attached
No gifts
Ignoring gifts lacking status
Too busy to talk, send a text
Hugs are for toddlers
Schedules
Working vacations

 

Ask who 'they' are, follow the money, question, always question.
